I’ve been using Press’n Seal to cover the stoma during shaving, but curious if anyone has other methods to keep the area clean and protected. What’s worked best for you?
Press’n Seal is a solid choice. For added protection, consider using a small, sterile gauze pad under the seal to catch stray hairs. An electric razor can minimize irritation and ensure precision around the stoma. Clean the area with mild soap afterward to maintain hygiene.
One thing I’ve found incredibly helpful is using a boar-bristle brush before trimming to lift and separate the beard hairs—this makes it easier to avoid accidentally cutting too close to the stoma. I also like to pre-cleanse the area with a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution, which helps reduce any risk of infection. For tools, I swear by a precision trimmer with a guard; it gives better control than clippers. Happy grooming—experiment to find what feels best for you!
